I am a nature and portrait photographer in St. Paul, Minnesota.
I wasn't always a photographer, but I was. Growing up, I was always the one who had a camera. I was a bit of a social butterfly. You could find me at the swim meet, the football game, forensics, O.M., building the homecoming float, or just socializing in the halls - always with my camera. I love capturing images of people doing what they love.
Fast forward to college when I met my husband. He introduced me to the woods and it was like I fell in love twice. The daughter of a horticulturalist finally awoke. I found wonder in the smallest parts of a forest: drops of dew, the texture of bark, bending light peeking through branches.
When our children were born, I knew that my new mommy brain could not be trusted to remember the details of these precious moments. Nature stands still, but my kids did not. I felt the need to learn everything I could about shutter speed, lighting and capturing authentic moments. By the time my third child arrived, I was thoroughly and forever hooked on photography.
As a former teacher, I am fascinated by the different stages of life, mesmerized by shared family features and captivated by the individuality. Most of all, I love discovering what makes people smile. Capturing a candid moment that shows love and happiness, is my ultimate portrait goal.
Currently, you can find my nature photography at Three Sisters Eclectic Arts on Grand Avenue in St. Paul and at Earth Goods in Minocqua, WI. You can also find me and my art at various art fairs throughout the year which I advertise on my facebook page. You can also message me there about portrait sessions.
